KASHNER, Sam With dignity and courage, on Monday, November 2, 2015, in his ninety-ninth year. Devoted husband of the late Sarah Rappaport. Beloved father of Sheila Kashner and Linda Greiss. Cherished grandfather of Barbie Greiss and Jordie Gledhow, Tammy Greiss and David Carey. Proud great-grandfather of Benjamin and Sarah Gledhow; Evan and Luke Carey. Predeceased by his siblings and their spouses, Issie and Jennie Kashner, Jennie and Benny Dalkin, Lily and Sam Eisman, Ida and Jacob Witcov; and by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Sophie Rappaport, Etta and Sam Hubscher, Moe and Anne Rappaport, Jack and Ray Rappaport, Louis and Helen Rappaport, Hyman and Jennie Rappaport, David and Sarah Rappaport. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and all who knew him. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of 4 South at Maimonides Geriatric Centre for their exceptional care and support. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, November 5 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Independent Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at his home through Monday evening.
