MICHAELS, Edith (nee Shatenstein) Edith passed away peacefully in Mount Sinai Hospital on December 31, 2013 at the age of 91. Devoted wife of the late Sam Michaels, dearly beloved mother and mother-in-law of Dr. George Michaels and Maureen Wingrad and of Evelyne Michaels and David Nayman of Toronto. Cherished grandmother of Sara Michaels and Jesse Michaels, and of Adam Nayman (Tanya Koivusalo) and Matthew Nayman (Suzie Lowe). Auntie Edie will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, especially by Bryna, Elaine and Stanley Shatenstein. Edith is survived by her sister-in-law Ruth Mitchell and will be missed by her dear and devoted friends Micheline Watier and Pierre Simard. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital and the Mount Sinai Hospital for their kind and sensitive care, and to the wonderful staff at the Lev Tov Residence which was her final home. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, January 3, at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Independent Hebrew Cemetery, 5015 rue de la Savane. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the 8th Floor Stroke Unit at St. Mary's Hospital or to the Palliative Care Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital would be greatly appreciated. |
