SHAFFER, Harry Peacefully, on Thursday, September 20, 2012. Beloved husband of Ruth Caron for sixty-seven years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Sandra Goldstein, Marilyn and the late Phil Ward, Jerry and Shelley Shaffer. Cherished Zaidie of Marlon and Erin, Randi and Phillip, Glenn and Michelle, Lori, Tara, and Samantha. Proud great-grandfather of Emma, Mia and Paige. Brother and brother-in-law of Minnie and Al Bernstein, Bluma and the late Herb Goldenberg, Ruthie and the late Hymie Shaffer, the late Rosa and the late Bernie Ettenberg, the late William and the late Evelyn Shaffer; and brother-in-law of Jack and Ettie Caron, Sylvia and Sam Chadnick, Melvin and the late Rose Zeitz. Harry will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Maimonides Geriatric Centre for their care, kindness and devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, September 23 at 11 a.m. Burial at the Russian Polish Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva private, from 2 to 4 and 7 and 9 p.m. daily. Due to the advent of Yom Kippur, shiva ends Tuesday afternoon, September 25.
