KARVAT, Miriam Leah It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Miriam Leah Karvat on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at the age of fifty-three, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Predeceased by her mother, Ray Karvat (nee Eiley). Devoted sister of Jack Karvat (Anh). Loving niece of Stan and Sharon Eiley, and Hy and Joan Eiley. Beloved cousin of David (Carol), Stuart (Randy), Mark (Maia), Stephanie (Lorna), Brahm (Alexia), Susan (Barry), and Janet (Jeff). She will be missed by her boyfriend of eleven years, Hymie Sheffer. Our family extends a heartfelt thank you to Miriam's foster family, Mrs. "Mom" Greer, Thomas and Marilou, and to her many dear friends and co-workers at the JEM Workshop. Special thanks to the Miriam Home and JEM Workshop for supporting her all of these years. Miriam was a gentle soul and made the world a brighter place. She will be deeply missed. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, October 26 at 2:30 p.m. Burial at the Russian Polish Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva to be announced.
