ARFIN, Lillian
(née Abramovitch)
It is with great sadness that the family of Lillian Arfin announces her peaceful passing on Friday, June 5, 2020 in Toronto, Ontario at the age of ninety-four. Known fondly to her many friends as Tootsie, she was beloved wife of the late Carl and cherished mother of sons Howard, Richard, Dean and the late Allan, daughters-in-law Barbara Allen, Carol Wallwork and Claire Arfin. She was the proud and loving grandmother of ten grandchildren and one great-grandson. She is survived by her sister Kate Blacker and predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. A singer known for her Montreal wartime performances with such icons as Oscar Peterson and the Johnny Holmes orchestra, Lil carried her love of music into her family life, as well as to her community through many shows over the decades. Her positive outlook and sense of fun will always be remembered. Under the current circumstances, a private graveside service will be held. At the time of her passing, Lillian was in palliative care at West Park in Toronto. In recognition of the extraordinary compassion and attention provided by the staff, and in lieu of flowers, donations in Lillian's memory can be made to the West Park Healthcare Centre Foundation at (416) 786-6790. Arrangements entrusted to Paperman & Sons. "I'll be loving you always."
