SHARKEY (SCHACHTER), Harold After a brief illness, at the age of ninety, on Saturday July 13, 2013, in Toronto. Much-loved husband of the late Harriet Sharkey (Ostro) z"l. Loved and respected father and father-in-law of Paul Sharkey and Susan Van Gelder, Liane Sharkey and Howell Gotlieb, grandfather of Simon Sharkey-Gotlieb, and brother of Julius Schachter and Joe Schachter. Loving uncle, machatunim and friend. He will always be remembered for his irrepressible sense of humour, his intellect and his quest for knowledge. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal, on Tuesday, July 16 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Dominion Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at Paul's home in Montreal on Tuesday, continuing in Toronto, at 57 Barksdale Ave., from 3 to 5 and 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. daily, with evening services at 8 p.m. |
