KAUFMAN, Emeric (Bubi) December 6, 1916 - July 3, 2010 Bubi passed away peacefully, in his ninety-fourth year, on Saturday, July 3, 2010. He was predeceased by his beautiful wife Cilli. He will be missed by his daughters, Claudette Reich and Monique Westra, and sons-in-law, Eric Reich and Haijo Westra. Loving grandfather of Julian Reich; Adam and Evan Westra. He was a memorable and a unique character, who was known for his intelligence, humour and charm. He was proud to have been the Chief of Police in his hometown of Sighet, Romania, after the war. He beat the odds, passing away in his sleep on Sabbath. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, July 6 at 3:15 p.m. Burial at the Hungarian Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva private. |
