SHIP, Harold (Herschel Zvi) At home, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 in his ninety-second year. Beloved husband and best friend of Nancy Solomon for over sixty years. Proud and devoted father and father-in-law of Martin Ship and Don Kinder, Heidi Ship, Annabelle Ship and John Sanders, and Steven Ship. Son of the late Jacob (Yankel) Ship and the late Annie (Nachuma) Tempkin. Pre-deceased by his four sisters and their spouses, Eva and Sam Laing, Edith (Tiny) and Kelly Nadler, Sarah and Morrie Chesler, Helen and David Chazan. Remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews, family and friends. Born in Beaurepaire, Quebec, Harold was an Architect and Town Planner, Vermont gardener and farmer, carpenter and tool collector, traveller and sketcher, lover of books and newspapers. A gentle soul, creative thinker, and a positive influence on the lives of all he touched. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, August 22 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Ship Family Circle Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at his home in Westmount.
