MERCER, Hania (nee Markel) Peacefully at home, after a courageous battle, on Thursday, December 3, 2009. Wife of the late Harry Mercer. Beloved and devoted mother of Willie. Daughter of the late Chaskel and the late Ryfka Markel. Sister of the late Henry Markel. Dear sister-in-law of Lena Markel, Eddy and Clara Mercer, Bella and the late Gregory Nudel, the late Leah and the late Michael Flicker. Loving aunt and great-aunt. Sadly mourned by Dr. Joseph and Susan Portnoy, Joshua Portnoy, Bram and Vanessa Portnoy, Aaron and Shoshi Portnoy, Sari and Michael Resnick. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends, all of whose lives she touched. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, December 4 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Shomrim Laboker Congregation Cemetery, Beth Hamedresh Hagadol Section, de la Savane. Shiva at 4665 rue Vezina.
