MARKEL, Chaim. Peacefully following a brief illness on Friday, November 17, 2006. Beloved husband and soul mate of Lena Swidler. Devoted, loving and caring father and father-in-law of Debbie and Joey Keller, Jacob and Heidi, and David. Amazing and cherished Zaidie of Rebecca and Joshua. Grandfather of Harley and Michael. Most dear brother and brother-in-law of Hania and the late Harry Mercer. Son of the late Chaskel and the late Rivkah Markel. Loving son-in-law of Feige and the late Nathan Piaskowski. Brother-in-law of Sabina and Barry Razmov, Miriam and Morris Grunzeweig. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his special nephew Willie Mercer, his nieces, nephews, family and many friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Portnoy and family for their ongoing support and Dr. Michael Dworkind, Veronique Chaput and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Jewish General Hospital for their compassionate care.
