BLOSSOM CADER (nee ELIAS) After a lifetime of hard work, unwavering devotion to family, nurturing love and support for her children and grandchildren, a zest for living and laughing, and unparalleled Yiddishe cuisine, Blossom Elias Cader passed away peacefully in Montreal on Sunday, July 5, 2009, just shy of her ninety-first birthday. Blossom, also fondly remembered as Blima, is survived by her sons, Alvin Shayne and Eric Lyon Cader, her grandsons Jonathan Jordan, Khalil Avram, Joshua and Adam, and her sister Edith (Lifschitz). She was predeceased by her husband Peter, her parents Moshe and Golda, and her brothers Leo and Norman. Blossom was an active member of Montreal's Jewish community throughout her life. She was a long-standing congregant of Adath Israel Synagogue and she spent nearly thirty years as the office manager of the Mizrahi organization. As well, she devoted tireless energy and effort as president of the Cote St. Luc Seniors Association. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Jewish Eldercare Centre, particularly all the nurses and caregivers of 4A, who with their constant compassion and care, ensured that the last stage of Blossom's journey on this earth was as comfortable as possible. Funeral services took place on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Adath Israel Cemetery, de la Savane. |
