Son of the late Samuel and Brina, brother of the late Florence (Melvin) Naimer. For 63 years he traversed life's journey with adoring wife, Ruth (Freeman). Devoted and selfless father of Karen (Koenig) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Gary (Vicky) Weiner of Boca Raton, Florida. Enormously proud grandfather of Jason (Lauren) Koenig of Chappaqua, NY, Aubrey Koenig of Honolulu, Hawaii, Samuel Weiner of Brooklyn, NY, Afton Weiner of Asheville, NC and Dani Weiner of Manhattan, NY. Beaming great-grandfather of Rhea Koenig. He will be missed by his caring and cherished sister-in-law, Feige (Sydney) Gasco, and brother-in law Lloyd (Helen) Freeman, cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada and the U.S. He inspired his children and grandchildren to pursue their passions, which he supported with unwavering love and commitment. To the end, and notwithstanding the impact of a severe stroke, HE managed to be OUR caretaker by engaging in days of shared memories, laughter and tears, while literally surrounded by his family, his greatest source of joy and comfort. Heartfelt thanks to Catherine Forbes, RN/ Floor Coordinator and the entire team of the Neurological ICU at the JGH, for your care and compassion and to Dr. "Golda" and the team at Mt. Sinai Palliative Care. Funeral service took place from Paperman & Sons, on Monday, February 20. |
