DESKIN, Mona Cyma (nee Weiss). Peacefully, in her sleep, on Saturday morning, January 20, 2007, in her one-hundredth year. Loving wife and best friend of the late Sydney Saul Deskin. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Dennis and Nijole Deskin of Ottawa, Eric and Claudia Deskin of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Herbert and Carole Feifer. Cherished grandmother (Nanny) of Andrea Deskin and Marius Felix, Adam and Joanna Deskin, Meghan Deskin, Amy Deskin, David and Gretchen Deskin, Mark and Tracy Deskin, Lisa Feifer and Marco Rampin, Jeffrey Feifer, Pamela Feifer and Danny Levine. Loving great-grandmother of Ben, Tessa, Aaron, Hannah, Zoe, Noah, Maxwell and Andreas. Dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Joe Weiss, the late Lillian Bolanos, the late Sam and the late Beth Weiss, Clara and the late Dave White, the late Anne and the late Abe Starke, the late Mary and the late Ben Shapiro, Cecile and the late Harold Jackson, and Archie and Reva Deskin. Sadly mourned by her nieces and nephews and by her many close friends including those from the Waldorf and Maimonides. Special thanks to her caregivers, especially Elvie. Those who had the honour to know Mona Deskin will agree she was a very special lady with an extraordinary intellect. We shall all miss her. Funeral Service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. West on Monday, January 22, 2007 at 2 p.m. Burial at the Adath Isreal Congregation cemetery section, on De La Savane. Shiva private.
