MARKEL, Sylvia (née Sibales)
On April 19, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Solomon David Markel, passed away peacefully with her children and grandchildren by her side. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Sydney and Golda Markel, Norma and David Butterfield, Kenneth Markel and Ashlyn Huynh, and Rhonda Markel. Cherished grandmother of Stewart Butterfield, Dan (Erin) and Sari (Dan) Markel, Elizabeth Henstridge, Taylor and Evan Markel. Proud great-grandmother of Caleb, Nathan and Noah Markel, and Sonnet Butterfield. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Jack and Shirley Sibalis. Sylvia will be sadly missed by her children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, relatives and friends, and by all who have the fortune to have had Sylvia in their lives. Special thanks to the wonderful staff of Louis Brier Home and Hospital, and her caregivers Ana and Ziva. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W. on Friday, April 22 at 10 a.m. Burial at the Chevra Kadisha B'nai Jacob Congregation Section, Back River Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Berri St. Due to the advent of Passover, shiva will end Friday afternoon.
