Obituary LAPIDUS, Lazar On Monday, October 27, 2014, at the age of ninety-seven. Beloved husband of the late Rachel Lapidus. Treasured brother of the late Helen Isakson, the late Harry Lapidus, the late Edith Fagin, and the late Esther Zvi. Beloved uncle of Robert and Carolyn Isakson of West Hartford, CT, Ruth (Isakson) and Phil Markel of Toronto. Cherished and adored grand-uncle of Aubrey Isakson, Loren and Yardena Isakson, Shelly Markel and Ian Freedman, and the late Daniel Markel. Great-grand-uncle of Michal, Ari, Roni, Shireen, Nili, Benjamin, and Lincoln. Lazar's devotion to his family was boundless, and he had an extensive network of friendships, all of whom were touched by his positive inspiration. He was a committed philanthropist to local community charities, as well as to multiple medical and educational institutions in Israel. Lazar was an avid supporter of the State of Israel. He co-founded Allure Sportswear in 1948, and was a principal in Yonkers Sportswear, Allouffe Sportswear, and ASTA Fashions. The family wishes to thank Krishna Singh for the exceptional and compassionate care that was given to Lazar. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Thursday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. Burial at the Adath Jeshurun Congregation Section, Back River Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Berri Street. The family will be receiving visitors at 5720 Rembrandt Ave. #301, Cote St. Luc, from 1:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday October 30, and Sunday, November 2 through Tuesday, November 4.
